Obituary for Janet Treadway

Janet Treadway, of Hereford, passed away December 14th at the age of 68.

Janet was born December 19, 1948, to George H. Jones and Elsie Pearl Rhodes in Anton, TX. She was raised in Hereford where she met her husband Robert.

There will be a Memorial Service on Monday, December 18, at 1:30 pm at the Frio Baptist Church of Hereford. Reverend James Peach will be officiating. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judy Boese, her two brothers, Greg Jones and George W. Jones, as well as by her nephew Tracy Smith and sister-in-law Carol Jones.

Janet worked as a server and as a homemaker who was devoted to her children. She was a down to earth person who was everyone’s best friend. She was always caring and compassionate and would give the shirt off her back to a friend in need. Friends and family remember her funny laugh, her love for butterflies, bingo, and Country Western music; she especially enjoyed Blake Shelton. She also liked motorcycles, but never got on one.

She is survived by her husband Robert Treadway of Hereford, her two sons Ricky and wife Cari Treadway of Abilene, Texas and Rodney and wife Malisa of Hereford, Texas, and by her two daughters, Reshella Treadway of Amarillo, Texas, and Retha and husband Gilbert Marcus DeLeon of Hereford, Texas. Also surviving her is her brother Harley and wife Anita Jones of Anson, Texas, and two sisters-in-law: Barbara Steward of Hereford and Louise Vogler of Vega, Texas. Janet leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom love and will miss her greatly.
