Pastor Lisa Scott, 54, lifetime Hereford resident died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at her residence.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Good News Church, 621 E. 15th Street, Hereford. Rev. David Alvarado, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E. 6th Street.
Pastor Lisa was born on April 26, 1955 in Hereford to Toby V. And Manuela B. Torres. She married the love of her life, Andy Scott in 1976 in Hereford.
Lisa was a 1973 Hereford High School graduate. She later attended nursing school. It was during that journey that she realized that her true calling was elsewhere. She surrendered to her Lord in 1986, where she found her life assignment helping others to find Jesus. She loved her Lord God and served him faithfully, touching countless lives through prayer and testimony. She was a part of the jail and prison ministry for over 20 years. Lisa was a member of Destiny Outreach where she also served as a pastor.
Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents; Natividad and Ramona Torres, her father and one brother, Frank B. Torres.
Survivors include her husband of the home, one daughter, Andrea Brown, one son, Corey Scott, both of Hereford, her mother of Hereford, one sister, Janie Flores of Cotton Center, TX, four brothers, Paul Torres of MS, Charlie Torres of Amarillo, TX, Toby Torres of Hereford, Manuel Garza of Levelland, TX, seven grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, her extended church family and a host of many friends.
