Cindy Henson

Cindy Henson, 57, longtime Hereford resident, died Friday, November 8, 2013 in Amarillo.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Hereford Church of the Nazarene, 1410 La Plata Drive, Hereford. Rev. Ted Taylor, Pastor and Ms. Joan Gaines, will officiate. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street, Hereford.

Cindy was born Cynthia Jo Cawthon on November 27, 1955 in Childress, Texas. She fell in love, and on September 1, 1978, she married her best friend, Larry Don “Donny” Henson in Tulia, Texas. They moved to Hereford in 1979 from Canyon.

Cindy Loved the Lord. She loved her family. Her grandchildren really brought a smile to her face. She adored them. Cindy liked to go camping, travel with her family, collect anything “strawberry”, swim, work out at SNAPS Fitness Center, watch movies, listen to music, watch anything “sports”. She truly enjoyed Wimbelton Tennis, Tour De France, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, playing cards with the family and most of all, she loved time spent with her grandkids, kids and wonderful husband, Donny. Cindy was a member of the Hereford Church of the Nazarene.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Homer Dee Cawthon and two step-brothers, Jerry and Bobby Edwards.

Survivors left to cherish her memories are her husband Donny of the home; son, Christopher Don Henson and wife Kelli; daughter, Carlie Dee Bishop and husband Steve; entire Henson family including mother and father in-law Betty and Dale Henson; step-mother, Molly Sue Graft; 3 brothers, Kim Cawthon and wife Brenda, Deward Cawthon and wife Sally, all of Amarillo, Homer Cawthon and wife Paula of Denison, TX; step-brother, Jackie Edwards of Canyon; step-sister, Lynda Baldwin and husband Johnny of Amarillo and two of the most wonderful grandchildren, Neelie Kate Henson and Cohen Mitchell Henson of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials to the Hereford Church of the Nazarene (NCA School), 1410 La Plata Drive, Hereford, Texas 79045 or the American Heart Association of your choice.
